Small Business Administration. October 26, 2026. Read the source.

What is the new deadline for SBA disaster loans under the Oglala Sioux Tribe declaration?

The Small Business Administration amended the Presidential major disaster declaration for the Oglala Sioux Tribe (FEMA-4941-DR) on October 20, 2026, published October 26. The amendment extends the deadline for physical damage loan applications to November 30, 2026. The economic injury loan deadline stays June 1, 2027. The disaster covers severe storms, straight-line winds, and flooding from June 2 to June 4, 2026. Applications go through the MySBA Loan Portal at lending.sba.gov.

What changed

Only one thing: the physical damage application deadline moved to November 30, 2026. Everything else in the September 1, 2026, declaration stands, including the June 1, 2027 deadline for economic injury disaster loans. The SBA disaster numbers are 21849 and 21850, South Dakota disaster SD-20019.

Physical damage loans repair or replace damaged property. Economic injury loans provide working capital for costs an organization could not meet because of the disaster, whether or not it had physical damage.

After the loan, the grants

A disaster loan is repaid. Recovery grants come later from FEMA assistance, tribal and state programs, and foundations that open disaster funds.
