Is there a free plan?
Yes. Pay as you go costs nothing, needs no card, and lets you browse and run keyword searches across everything in the corpus. You can see whether there is anything worth having in your field before the question of budget comes up.
What does it cost if I do pay?
Paid plans start at $99 a month for Access, which includes 150 credits. You can also buy credits without a plan at $0.50 each. Annual billing is cheaper.
What is a credit?
The unit Quillify prices its work in. Reading, filtering, browsing and organizing your documents cost nothing. Credits pay for the work Quillify does for you: checking whether you qualify, drafting, revising, evaluating. Every action has a published price and the estimate appears on the button before you press it.
What does a proposal cost in credits?
A foundation proposal is about 30 credits, roughly 20 to 60 with the size of what you attach. A full federal proposal is about 500, roughly 300 to 800, because the solicitation runs to hundreds of pages. Revisions are 3 to 4 credits, and the exact figure is calculated from your own documents and shown on the button before anything runs.
What does asking Lil’ Q cost?
About half a credit a question, so a normal back-and-forth costs under one and a long working session runs two or three. Part-credits accrue rather than rounding up, and those figures are Lil’ Q Standard: the deeper Advanced model costs about 3 times as much, and you choose which answers you.
Do unused credits expire?
Pay-as-you-go credits never expire. Plan credits roll over month to month and stay good for 12 months from the month you receive them. Grant work comes in waves, and a quiet quarter should build capacity for a busy one rather than disappear.
Can I cancel?
Yes, and pay-as-you-go exists precisely so you do not have to hold a subscription through a quiet period to keep access to what you already bought.
What is in it
What is in the database?
Open grants: 4,000+, federal, state and private. Government contracts: 10,000+ currently open from SAM.gov nationwide plus the procurement portals of 34 states we ingest directly, 40,000+ tracked in total. Foundations: 122,000+ on file, of which 19,000+ explicitly accept applications. Community lenders: 480+. And 2,000,000+ organizations from the IRS registry, for finding who funds peers like you.
How current is it?
Grant and contract listings refresh daily, and expired listings are flagged rather than left to waste your afternoon. Foundation data comes from IRS filings and currently covers tax years 2023 through 2025. Foundations file annually, so every foundation figure describes a filing year rather than this morning, which is true of anyone building from 990s.
Why do you show a smaller number of foundations than competitors?
We show both. The larger number is how many we hold; the smaller is how many will actually read an unsolicited proposal. Roughly seven in ten private foundations state on their own tax return that they only fund organizations they select themselves, and a list of funders you cannot approach is a list of ways to waste a week.
Do you cover state and local funding?
Yes, and at every level. State, local and foundation-level grants are imported continuously by a scraper that runs against the sources themselves, and people go and collect what the scraper cannot reach. If you find something we do not have, it is far more likely to be something we have not got to yet than something out of scope, and telling us moves it up the list. The AI questions
Will a funder know it was written with AI?
They might, and some funders have published policy on it while others have reviewers with opinions their agency has not published. In practice our drafts generally clear AI detectors, and where a passage will not, we mark it so you can put it in your own words before it goes anywhere. For funders who ask you to declare AI use, we give you the disclosure wording rather than leaving you to invent it. Does it make things up?
The writer drafts from documents you supply, so the substance is substance you already had. What it will not do is invent a version of your organization that does not exist, which occasionally means the honest output is that your case is thin in a particular area. That is more useful than a fluent paragraph about a program you have no data for. Asking Lil’ Q a question is a looser surface than the writer: it answers from real data and it is still a language model, so every conversational answer links the records it drew from, and a specific figure is one click from its source.
Can it handle a 200-page federal solicitation?
Yes, and that is where cost comes from. The announcement and everything you attach are read repeatedly through research, compliance checking and review. Selecting the handful of documents that genuinely describe your work costs a fraction of selecting your whole library and produces a better proposal.
Who owns the proposal it writes?
You do. You own the output Quillify generates for you, and we do not claim ownership of any of your material, uploaded or generated. Use it for any lawful purpose, including submitting it to funders. Two things worth knowing rather than discovering: AI output may not attract copyright protection in every jurisdiction, and similar inputs could produce similar output for someone else. Do you train models on our documents?
No. Your content is not used to train foundation models. We use aggregate statistics about how the product is used to run and improve it. The documents you select are processed by the model providers that power drafting and analysis, which is how the work gets done, and the processors are named in the privacy policy.Where your documents go, in full
Does it submit the application for me?
You press submit. Quillify gets everything ready, and federal and state portals want a human with credentials, so your credentials stay yours.
Security and access
Who can see my documents?
You, administrators of the organization that owns the file, and anyone you explicitly share it with. Every read is authorized on the server before a byte moves, and the file bytes are never directly readable, so no public or guessable download URL can exist.The full account, including the limits
How do you handle security and compliance reviews?
Send us the questionnaire and we will work through it in detail. Your documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, isolated to your organization, and gated by per-organization access controls enforced on the server. The security page sets out how the isolation, encryption and access model work.
If I joined through a sponsor, what can they see?
Counts, readiness scores, and member names and emails. They cannot reach your documents or your proposals, and there is no code path that would let them. You can choose to share a specific file with them, and that share is yours to revoke.
Where is my data stored?
In the United States, on managed enterprise cloud infrastructure, in a multi-region configuration. Payment is handled entirely by a PCI-compliant processor, so we never see or store card numbers.

Do you do post-award reporting?
The dates, yes. The money, no. Hand over an award letter and Quillify reads out the reporting schedule, the closeout window, how long records have to be kept and the changes that need the funder’s approval first, then puts them on your calendar with the sentence from the letter each one came from. Drawdowns, reimbursement requests and spend against budget are not ours and stay wherever you already handle them.
