Grant Letters was a periodic roundup of funding opportunities and notes on how to approach them. If you followed a link expecting a back issue, here is the honest account of where they went.
Why there is no archive here
When we rebuilt this site we went through everything the old one had published. The four Grant Letters issues turned out to contain a title, a date, a list of tags and the author’s biography. No opportunities, no writing, nothing worth carrying across.
We could have migrated them anyway. Four pages that promise a newsletter and deliver a byline is a worse outcome than this paragraph, so this paragraph is what you get.
What does the job instead
A fortnightly letter is a slower, less personalised version of two things the product already does. Worth knowing that before you wait for one.
- Monitoring, which is the letter without the wait
- Describe what you are looking for once and new matching opportunities surface as they publish, not on a fortnightly schedule. Filtered by whether you are eligible, which is the filter that removes the most reading. One credit per run, at whatever cadence you pick, and the product shows you the figure before you switch it on.
- The guides, for the things that do not change weekly
- Registration lead times, what counts as a match, how a reviewer actually reads, which foundations will read you at all. These are the questions that recur regardless of what is open this month, and they are written to stay correct, not to fill an issue.
- News, when something has happened
- Partnerships, releases, company milestones. Short, and infrequent by design.
If it comes back
