How to write a grant application fast
How do I write a grant application on a short deadline?
Spend the first hour deciding whether you can apply at all: check eligibility and any required registrations, because a missing SAM.gov registration can take weeks. Then list every requirement and attachment, ask partners for letters on day one, and build the narrative from material you already have, organized to the scoring criteria. Set your own deadline two days before the real one and submit early.

A plan for a grant due in days
Hour one: can you apply?
Read the eligibility section first. Then check registrations: federal grants need an active SAM.gov registration and a UEI, which can take weeks. If either is missing and cannot be fixed in time, stop and put your effort into the next deadline. What registration involves.
Day one: list every requirement
Pull out every required section, form, attachment, page limit and format rule, and give each an owner. Missing one item can disqualify a strong proposal before anyone reads it.
Day one: ask for letters and quotes
Letters of support, partner commitments and vendor quotes depend on other people's calendars. Ask for them first, with a draft they can sign.
Write from what you have
Your past proposals, program descriptions, budgets and evaluation data cover most of what a funder asks. Rewrite only the parts that answer this funder's question. What carries over, and what to rewrite.
Organize to the scoring criteria
Use the funder's own headings and criteria as your outline, so a reviewer finds each answer where they expect it.
Set your deadline two days early
Portals slow down near deadlines, and federal submissions can be rejected for validation errors you can only fix before the closing time.
Doing most of it in an afternoon
"Am I qualified?" reads the full announcement and tells you where you stand before you spend an hour. The requirements checklist lists everything the application asks for, with what your team must produce, the risk of missing each item and its deadline. Then Quillify drafts the proposal from your own documents, revises the sections you name, and grades the finished draft against the announcement so you can fix the weakest parts first.
Short windows are where it counts. EnCor Industries found a state aerospace internship award with two weeks left to apply, and won $6,000 to hire interns. Read their story.
Who asks this most
The answer above is the same whoever you are. What Quillify does about it is not.
